If you are interested in learning about
the history of the area known as Poosey Ridge, I recommend reading The Hills That Beckon
by Ray Long. In the book, Mr. Long recalls memories of his childhood while
growing up in the area. The book is fascinating. After reading, I was
left with a sense of what life was like in Poosey Ridge during the mid-twentieth
century.
I recently received an email from Kay Vincent in Missouri about an area there
known as
Poosey. According to the stories told in the area,
it was named after our Poosey Ridge. Take a look at their
site; it is interesting reading.

Ray Long has written an excel-lent history of the region using his
childhood experiences as a reference. I highly recommend the book.
During a recent email conversation with Ray Long, I learned that he is writing a sequel to his book. The new book is entitled Beyond The Hills That Beckon. In his first book, Ray Long gave the history of the area as it effected his family. His second book will concentrate again on the history of the area but with out the family bent. He hopes to have the book completed by the end of the year. I anxiously look forward to reading his new book.
